Professional Builders Merchants

We are primarily a builders merchants, focusing solely on the reactive demands of the joinery industry. We have a diverse and growing range of stock available for next day delivery, including the UK’s largest range of timber window components and accessories.

If you require bespoke timber products, our local guild craftsmen are able to design and produce them including external doors, double-glazed sash and casement windows, and garden furniture that will last you a lifetime, not just one summer.

Our timber products are built and finished by hand in our purpose-built norwich workshop, yet our prices are surprisingly affordable.

Sash Windows

Our craftsmen are passionate about sash windows. We hate to see other companies use replacement sash windows that are out of character with a property, because it ruins the authenticity of an historic building.

The Joinery Yard craftsmen take great pride in recreating a piece of history, ensuring your newly manufactured timber windows remain in keeping with the look of your property.

Our windows are manufactured in our purpose-built Norwich workshop in a choice of hardwood or softwood, including the amazing Accoya, a modified wood with a 50 year guarantee not to rot or warp, even when unpainted.

This incredible timber has a longevity that is unmatched and will last a lifetime.

Windows

We can also manufacture timber casement windows in a variety of hard and softwoods, and we specialise in supplying and fitting slim double glazed glass units.

These units use both Argon and Krypton gas which provides better insulation and heat efficiency in a more affordable way.

The glass is provided by our sister company Slim-Glass, ensuring a fast turnaround and high quality service.

Speciality glass such as stained and leaded glass is also available for windows and door panels.

Doors

Our external doors are manufactured by hand in our workshops in the same way as our sash and casement windows.

We can also replicate any existing exterior doors you have that may need changing.

We use hardwoods and softwoods, although Accoya is our timber of choice due to its longevity and the low levels of maintenance required.

With a 50 year guarantee never to warp or rot, Accoya is environmentally friendly with a beauty that matches the best tropical hardwoods.

If your sash windows, frames or sills are in need of some TLC, we can offer varying techniques to solve common problems such as minor or major rot, cord renewal and window rebalancing.

Double-Glazing

At The Joinery Yard, we are market leaders in double glazing existing frames. How? By creating a deeper rebate in the original frame this allows us to fit in a slim double glazed unit.

Draught Proofing

Our special draught excluder is fitted in the meeting rail along with the staff and parting beads. This leads to vast improvements to the thermal performance of the window.

Garden Furniture
